Kim and Greg During June 2002 I was going through a divorce. I wasn't ready to start dating or get serious, but I was lonely and I did want someone to talk to. I searched Yahoo! Personals and came across a profile from a guy who was going through the exact same thing. At first I was leery, but I responded. I went on to search some more profiles and frankly nothing came across as interesting as the original profile I found.
I wrote to him and a few days later he replied. Greg introduced himself and thanked me for contacting him. We set up a date to chat on Yahoo! Messenger. The anticipation was killing me, just waiting to talk with him. I will never forget our first chat. We absolutely clicked. We had so much to talk about with so much in common (going through a divorce), so it was pleasurable to communicate with someone who understood where I was coming from.
Our daily chat sessions on Yahoo! Messenger went on for about a month. Greg and I finally decided it was right to meet. We never even spoke on the phone; we kept this very limited.
We set a date to meet at a local club, and each of us planned to bring a friend along. We told each other what we would be wearing and what time to meet. From that point on it was nothing but butterflies and jitters for me. When Greg and I first laid eyes on one another, it was unbelievable. Talk about my heart skipping a beat! Not only was Greg the hottest man I have seen in quite some time, but I felt like we had known each other for years through our conversations on Yahoo! Messenger. It brought us so close without ever meeting in person.
Greg has custody of his six-year-old son and I have my 9-year-old daughter. Almost a year after we met on Yahoo! Personals, we introduced our children to each other because we knew that nothing was going to come between us and that we were going to be together. We are a family now!
Now, four years later, we are getting married. Greg is the man of my dreams and I love him with all of my heart. Yahoo! Personals helped us achieve the precious life we have together.
