Alma and Chris
Dreams really do come true! A friend of mine encouraged me to give Yahoo! Personals a try after she had met a wonderful man through Yahoo! Personals. I placed an ad and couldn't believe how many responses I received. It was quite overwhelming! One response in particular caught my attention and I responded back. We exchanged emails for a little over a month and then finally exchanged phone numbers. We spoke several times on the phone and finally decided to meet for dinner. Well, that was more than four years ago! Chris asked me to marry him in August and we're planning our November 2002 wedding. Thanks Yahoo! We couldn't have done it without you!
A friend of mine persuaded me to give Yahoo! Personals a try - and I did. I placed my first ad probably in the September/October 1997 time frame. I received a lot of responses the first day and I was really surprised. I received Chris's email in February 1998. There was something about his writing. His first response consisted of about 6 words ... but it sure got my attention!
Ha ha, we laugh about this one! We finally decided to go out to dinner on a Thursday night. I wasn't worried about meeting him, mostly because we took our time getting to know one another and I felt comfortable with him. Unfortunately, I had a long day at work and by the time I got home, I didn't feel like going out. I was actually going to call and cancel but when I looked at the time, I realized that he had probably already left his house. So I reluctantly got dressed (jeans and a sweatshirt -- nothing fancy) and waited for his arrival. He showed up right on time. It was raining and he had on his long leather trench coat and was dressed very nice. Needless to say, I felt like a slob at this point. But we went to dinner and had a wonderful time!
